Hadley P. Powell | Founder

Hadley’s expertise spans from Old Master prints to Contemporary art. She started her career at Christie’s, New York as a specialist in the Prints & Multiples department where she researched and cataloged prints from Rembrandt to Rauschenberg. Subsequently in the Impressionist & Modern Art department, she worked on the high profile evening sales, where she advised clients buying and selling at auction and assisted in private collection management and fine art appraisals.    

Hadley received a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and a minor in Economics from Union College. She holds a Master’s degree in Modern Art, Connoisseurship and the History of the Art Market from Christie’s Education, New York. Her prize-winning thesis studied the impact of the 1913 Armory Show on George Bellows's Monhegan Island, Maine paintings.

She lives in Boston, Massachusetts and Northeast Harbor, Maine.

Lilah Aubrey | Senior Art Consultant

Lilah joined Powell Fine Art Advisory in 2020 bringing both auction house and gallery experience to our business. Lilah specializes in Contemporary and 20th Century Art, and has a particular love for the Post War period in New York.

Previously Lilah was a Director at Richard Gray Gallery in Chicago and New York where she facilitated gallery and art fair exhibitions, artist studio relationships and secondary market consignments, and oversaw the gallery’s appraisal services. Lilah researched and valued hundreds of works of art on an annual basis totaling upwards of $2billion for resale and insurance purposes. Lilah’s focused work with institutions, private and corporate collections, family offices and foundations includes advising on acquisitions, deaccessions, collection strategy, along with cultural philanthropies.   

Prior to Richard Gray Gallery, Lilah managed Sotheby’s regional office in Boston. She lives in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts.

ASTRID BURNS | Senior Art Consultant

Astrid has worked in the fine art industry for almost 20 years, including at The Fortress Corporation, her family's business of fine art storage and services with locations in Boston, New York and Miami. She graduated from Brown University with a degree in studio art and art semiotics. She has worked extensively with collections ranging from Contemporary Art and Photography to Maritime Art and Old Masters. Astrid's clients have included museums, auction houses, artists, foundations, and private collectors. She enjoys working with clients and introducing them to a range of artists and mediums. Astrid's ultimate goal is to help her clients make the best choice for their collection.

She has previously worked in film development in New York, Los Angeles and Paris. Astrid is a Vice-Chair of the Museum Council at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, a board member of the Max Courage Curriculum and Head of Events, a board member and Head of Development for Horizons at DCD, and Co-Head of the Alumni Committee at the Park School in Brookline.

She lives in Dedham and Marion, Massachusetts.

maggie porter | Senior art Consultant

Maggie has spent her career working in the fine art auction industry, with experience at Christie's, New York in the Impressionist & Modern Art department, the former online auction house Paddle8, and most recently at Hindman Auctions in Chicago as the Vice President of Sales Strategy. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with degrees in Art History and French, and holds a Master's degree in Fine and Decorative Art from the Sotheby's Institute of Art, London. 

She currently resides in Chicago.

LUISA CASTELLANOS BURAYE | Associate Art Consultant & MARKETING MANAGER

Luisa has committed her career to the commercial art world, with a particular focus on Latin American art.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia, where she delved into the relationship between Pre-Columbian history and contemporary Latin American artists. She complemented her undergraduate studies by obtaining a Master's in Art Business from Sotheby's Institute of Art, further broadening her understanding of the commercial aspects of the art world.

Her profound understanding of artistic connections and influences, along with her dedication to introducing and promoting Latin American artists to new collections, defines her unique approach within the art community.

She lives in Cambridge, MA.

Manuela Uribe | Registrar

Manuela joined the Powell Fine Art team in 2022. She considers herself a multi-disciplinarian at heart, committed to a career in the commercial art world while dabbling in her own art-making practice in her spare time.

She received a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), where she also briefly pursued a painting practice. She specialized in Postmodern and Contemporary Latin American art, and enriched those studies through internships at Bogotá-based art consulting firm Paralelo 10 and editorial projects in collaboration with major Colombian gallery La Cometa. 

Her worldview and approach to the cultural sector are uniquely characterized by her trans-national upbringing; before moving to Boston in 2022, she lived in Bogotá, Colombia; Chicago, IL; Panama City, Panama; Santiago, Chile; Cincinnati, OH; and Mexico City, Mexico.

She lives in Boston, MA, and makes frequent trips back home to Colombia.

KATIE MORSE | REGISTRAR

Katie joined Powell Fine Art Advisory in 2024 as an intern after graduating from Northeastern University with a degree in Business Administration. 

Growing up on Martha’s Vineyard, Katie spent summers working at her family’s art galleries which launched her interest in art business. Working closely with local artists and loyal patrons, she found purpose in building relationships and forging connections through art. 

During her time at Northeastern, Katie spent a semester working at Roberts Projects in Los Angeles. This experience introduced her to the West Coast art scene and inspired a refreshed appreciation for contemporary art.

She lives in Boston and returns to Martha’s Vineyard, MA often.
