In April 2022, we had the pleasure of working alongside artist Rosamund Zander on her retrospective exhibition, Rosamund Zander: En Plein Air, at the Cyclorama at the Boston Center for the Arts. The show was a true masterpiece that embodied the artist's deep reverence and love for nature. With over 80 paintings on display, the exhibition transported viewers to the forests of New England, the cliffs of Costa Brava, and the groves of California, inviting them to discover the beauty in the undergrowth, outcroppings, gardens, and hillsides.

Zander's paintings are a testament to her dedication and passion for plein air painting, a practice that involves painting landscapes outdoors. To her, painting in nature is not just a technique, but a spiritual experience that allows her to capture the ever-changing beauty of nature. The exhibition was a true celebration of Zander's artistic journey, showcasing her ability to capture the natural world's dynamism in her paintings.

One of the highlights of the retrospective was the attention to detail and mastery of color that Zander brought to each piece. Her use of light, shape, and color was truly mesmerizing, making the paintings come alive and drawing the viewer into the natural world they depicted.

Overall, the exhibition was a true feast for the senses and a reflection of Zander's deep connection with nature. Our team collaborated with the artist in curating an impeccable show that displayed her process over the years and her unique outlook towards nature. It was an honor to curate "Rosamund Zander: En Plein Air" and working with the artist was a rewarding experience for everyone involved. We had the opportunity to learn more about her work and showcase it to the people of Boston. We hope that the exhibition inspired viewers to see the beauty in the natural world around them.
